Services

We here at The Growing Place Pediatrics want to thank you for considering our services! At this time, we provide therapy and coaching sessions on a private pay basis; however, we are here to fully support our clients in submitting claims directly to their insurance so as to receive any available reimbursement based on individual plan coverage. For more information on this process please contact us directly. We look forward to helping you grow!

 Spelling to Communicate

Spelling to Communicate (S2C) teaches individuals with motor challenges the purposeful motor skills necessary to point to letters to spell as an alternative means of communication (AAC). The goal is to achieve synchrony between the brain and body. Skilled and rigorously trained communication partners teach purposeful motor skills using a hierarchy of verbal and gestural prompts. As motor skills improve through consistent practice, students progress from pointing to letters on letterboards to spell to typing on a keyboard. Accordingly, communication moves from concrete to abstract as motor skills progress. We are proud to be a provider of S2c and to support our non- or minimally speaking clients and their families in Tennessee and Georgia!

Family and Community Support
As an integral part of our supports for families, we incorporate education and training in techniques that allow Autistic and sensory-motor involved students to increase meaningful communication and general skill development. Parents and family members are readily involved in learning how to use AAC and/or purposeful motor supports to help their ASD family member across multiple environments. The Growing Place is also proud to offer a free, monthly meeting for families to further supplement this learning! Please check our "Resources and Events" tab for more information.

Individual and coaching sessions are available in 30, 45, or 60 minute blocks. Please visit our "Contact Us" and "Forms" tabs for information on how to get started, scheduling an appointment, and our referral program!
